Canada’s Bianca Andreescu wins opening match at 2021 U.S. Open

Canada’s Bianca Andreescu is off to a profitable begin on the 2021 U.S. Open, two years after profitable her first main in New York.

The Mississauga, Ont., native defeated Viktorija Golubic of Switzerland 7-5, 4-6, 7-5, in a match that lasted practically three hours.

Andreescu, who’s ranked No. 6 within the match, will subsequent face American Lauren Davis within the second spherical.
