Oilers’ Josh Archibald suspended one sport for clipping Jets’ Logan Stanley

Edmonton Oilers ahead Josh Archibald has been suspended one sport by the NHL’s Division of Participant Security for a low-bridge hit on Winnipeg Jets defenceman Logan Stanley in Sport 3 of their first-round Stanley Cup Playoff collection.

The Division of Participant Security described the unlawful hit as “clipping.”

The play occurred with 8:49 left to play within the third interval, when Archibald skated towards Stanley on the blue line and bent all the way down to ship successful, inflicting his upper-body to collide together with his opponent’s knees. The decision on the ice was a minor penalty for tripping.

Edmonton went on to blow a 4-1 lead, permitting Winnipeg to rise as much as 3-0 of their first-round collection.
